Jennifer Woo is an Assistant Professor at Texas Woman’s University and has had the honor of working with the BIBB team since spring 2022. She is a practicing certified nurse midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner who has practiced clinically since 2005. She received a NIH K23 (1K23MD016431-01A1) mentored career development award to examine the influence of vitamin D status on risk for preterm birth among a subsample of Black women enrolled in the BIBB study. Dr. Woo will also examine the role psychosocial factors such as racial discrimination and depressive symptoms have on vitamin D status, gene expression of immune related genes and risk for preterm birth.
